Plunger rods made of Si3N4 ceramic, also known as insulating ceramic pistons. They are often used in high-performance pumps and valves, especially in applications that require corrosion and wear resistance, such as chemical processing, medical equipment, food processing and wider industrial applications. The low thermal expansion coefficient and high thermal conductivity of this material ensure that dimensional stability and operating efficiency are maintained in environments with drastic temperature changes.
Mechanical Strength and Wear Resistance
Silicon nitride has an elastic modulus of up to 290 GPa and a Vickers hardness of 1500 HV. These properties provide excellent wear and pressure resistance, allowing the plunger rod to maintain stability and long-term durability under high load conditions.
High Heat Resistance and Thermal Shock Resistance
The maximum operating temperature is 1200℃, and the thermal shock stability coefficient is as high as 500℃, allowing the plunger rod to maintain dimensional and performance stability in environments with extremely large temperature fluctuations.
Excellent Chemical Stability
The chemical inertness of silicon nitride makes it perform well in various corrosive environments, especially suitable for fields such as chemical processing and medical equipment.
Good sealing performance and low friction
The smooth outer surface and precise machining dimensions of the plunger rod help provide good sealing performance, reduce friction and wear during operation, and thus improve the efficiency of the overall system.
Edgetech is committed to providing silicon nitride ceramic rods and other high-performance ceramic components with excellent performance. Our products provide key support and guarantees for customers with their excellent performance and reliability, helping customers to improve production efficiency and optimize product performance.
