Ceramic with fabulous thermal performance -Boron Nitride Rod

Boron nitride ceramics have good heat resistance, thermal stability, thermal conductivity, and high-temperature dielectric strength. Excellent thermal properties make boron nitride ceramic rods ideal heat dissipation and high-temperature insulation materials.

Boron nitride has good heat resistance. It has no obvious melting point and sublimates at 3000℃ under a N pressure of 105 Pa. The maximum operating temperature of boron nitride in an inert atmosphere such as nitrogen can reach 2800℃, and it will not decompose even when heated to 3000℃ in an ammonia atmosphere. Still, it has poor stability in an oxidizing atmosphere, and the operating temperature can only be limited to 900℃.

Boron nitride ceramics have good thermal conductivity, among which ultra-high purity boron nitride ceramics (purity 99.7%) have a room temperature thermal conductivity of 50W/mK, and the thermal conductivity of boron nitride and aluminum nitride ceramics can reach 80W/mK. Due to its high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, and elastic modulus, it has good thermal stability. It can be used under repeated rapid cooling and heating conditions from 1500℃ to room temperature.

The excellent thermal properties of boron nitride make it increasingly widely used in the field of high-temperature insulation.

Because of its heat resistance and corrosion resistance, it can be used as high-temperature structural parts, rocket combustion chamber linings, spacecraft heat shields, and corrosion-resistant parts of magnetohydrodynamic generators.

Due to its excellent electrical insulation, it is also widely used in insulators for high-voltage and high-frequency electricity and plasma arcs, insulators for various heaters, heating parts, and high-temperature, high-frequency, and high-voltage insulation heat dissipation components, and materials for high-frequency application electric furnaces.

Its excellent thermal properties are also ideal materials for preparing semiconductor packaging heat dissipation base plates, heat dissipation rods for phase shifters, heat dissipation parts for traveling wave tube collectors, and p-type diffusion sources and microwave windows for semiconductors and integrated electrodes.
